Privacy Policy
This policy explains how chale | شاليه by Yazan Rentals (“Chale”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when you use the Chale mobile app and the website chale.rawadagency.com (together, the “Service”). Chale is a marketplace that connects guests with hosts of private chalets in Jordan.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number, date of birth and, optionally, a profile photo. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address that service shares with us.
- Host verification: hosts provide images of the front and back of their national ID card so we can verify their identity before they can list a chalet.
- Listings: hosts provide chalet details, photos, prices, availability, booking rules, location and owner contact numbers.
- Bookings and payments: the dates, booking type and guests for each reservation, and payment information such as bank-transfer receipts you upload. Card payments, where offered, are processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Messages and reviews: chats between guests and hosts, support requests, reports and the reviews and ratings you post.
Information collected automatically
- Location: with your permission, your device location is used to show chalets near you on the map. You can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
- Device and notifications: a push-notification token so we can send booking updates and messages, and basic technical information needed to run the app.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage your account and let you browse, book and host chalets.
- To process bookings, payments, payouts, cancellations and refunds.
- To verify hosts and help keep the Service safe and free of fraud.
- To send you booking confirmations, reminders, messages and service notices.
- To provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. When we share information
- Between guests and hosts: when you book, the host receives the details needed for your stay (for example your name and contact number), and you receive the information needed to reach the chalet.
- Service providers that run parts of the Service for us, including Google Firebase (sign-in, notifications and storage), Google Maps, Pusher (in-app chat), our payment provider and our hosting provider. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or Chale.
4. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Booking and payment records may be kept longer where the law requires it.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can view and update your profile in the app.
- Delete your account at any time from the app: Settings → Delete account. You can also email us to request deletion.
- You can turn off location access and notifications in your device settings.
- You may ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children
The Service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. Bookings must be made by an adult.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the date above.
